sump media


iwas wondering what all i could use in a sump for media have thought about something like lava rock. i know that bio balls will work but i am looking for something different and cheaper. this is on a fresh water setup. so please let me know what you are using i need a little help

I think lava rock will alter your PH i would just get some bio balls talk to your LFS and see how much they would charge.

Nothing in the sump... no need for it, all your biological filtration will take place in the rock in the tank

Bio balls are a bad idea. They can pollute your water.
