Sump Design Overview

Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking any design/measurement errors. Could people please look at this post and tell me if anything looks whacky?

ITs a bit confusing, is that the skimmer on the left with a Mag12 feeding it? Most Skimmers work better if the outflow is not submerged.
Also you prolly want the drain from the tank to dump onto the surface rather than under water.
Exactly how is the refuge side being fed with tank water?

Yeah, the skimmer is on the left. Its an EV-240. It is made for parallel water depth. In the instructions, it calls for its water level being just above the water level of the sump.

The fuge side is being fed from the return to the tank. I could also feed it from the drain from the tank. Either way, its adjustable via ball valve.

Also, why would I want it to dump onto the surface rather than under water. Seems like that would cause a larger microbubble problem.
