Question

Spider reflector footprint & MH Question?

I am building a hood for my 135 to "hopefully" house 3- 250 W MH plus 4 - 48" VHO. I am planning to order and install spider reflectors for the halides, but have not done so yet.

I know that I want to mount the reflectors parallel to the long-side of the tank. However, I would like to know what the physical dimensions of the spider reflectors are? Also, are the reflectors pre-drilled for mounting?? I have read in some other threads that I should mount the reflectors on a standoff away from the hood. How far and what material should the standoff be??

Thanks,
john

I'm @ work and don't have the dimensions handy. But mine came pre-drilled, came with the socket too. I just used a piece of 3/4" pine for a spacer to get it lower to the water. Originally, it was just screwed to the top of the hood. (top is 1/2" ply) wasn't worried about heat.

If nobody posts by the time I get home, I'll measure it for you.
