Spa Flex tubing...anyone using?

I went to HD today to get some spa flex tubing to connect my closed loop pump to my bulkheads... however the bulkheads are 1 1/2" and the 1 1/2" spa flex doesnt fit....what are people out there using for your setups? how do you connect your bulkheads and the spa flex tubing? I would rather not use any kind of reducers or similar connectors.

It should work. Is it possible that the sizes are mismarked?
