looks good!! what size tank?

here is a pic of mine when i had it setup. this is a pic before the water test. no pumps were needed. the skimmer powered the entire fuge. the waste water from the skimmer flowed into the fuge, then the fuge gravity fed into the display. this was a 30g fuge filled all the way to the top. i had 8" of sand in it for nitrate controll. about 40#'s of LR also. there was plenty of algae in there. unfortunately it was all razor Caleurpa.

this is the view from the back before the tank was installed on the mantle.

i do suggest you not use Caleurpa. it is prolly the worse aglae you can use in a fuge. it can/will go holocarpy on you and crash your entire tank. you would be better with Chaeto.

Very good idea

I'm using a 4 gallon feed bucket with a 1" drain to the sump. One of the 2 drains from my overflow feeds it. I placed a PC flood light above it and the chaeto has been going nuts. It was suposed to be temporary until the big tank is back up and running, but it's been going four months longer than planned now
