Repair?

This seemed more DIY than anything. I have a samll 28 gallon bowfront that's been in storage for a while and I was planning on setting it up during a move to a larger apartment coming up in a few weeks. However, when I got it out today I noticed that the black plastic top frame is cracked on the back of the aquarium. Is the glass glued to the inside of the frame such that this won't matter, or should I be concerned? How would one go about fixing this?

Thanks.

if you know the manufacturer of the tank(usually a sticker on the bottom) you can usually get another frame for it. i have heard it takes a while, but it can be done.

depends on the tank, on whether or not how needed it is. it is a good idea to replace it if you can.

it WAS what I was going to move my current livestock into when I move in the next few weeks. I don't think time so much as finance would be the problem.

i would definately try and find a replacement frame if you can. since it is a 28 the pressures are not extreme, so you may be able to brace the brace.

i have had good luck cementing acrylic to those plastic frames using Weld-on 16. i have not tried it on a mush hold situation like the frame could be, but the times i have done it, it has held strongly.
