I haven't been able to come up with much, besides the expensive mirrored aluminum. Aluminum flashing at Lowe's will work, but doesn't have the reflective properties of mirrored. Don't be tempted by aluminum foil. I have seen people use it, but with any salt creep it'll deteriorate and fall in your tank. Not good.

i have not seen mirrored acrylic. it could work depending on the bulbs. if they are MH's i would say no, unless they are placed a good distance from the bulbs. if they were flourescents than you are prolly safe.
