Reactor inputs

I am going to start a build on phosphate reactor and a reature filled with carbon. I can get ahold of 1.5in tube that is about 7 feet tall. My goal is to buy 1 pump branch it to two tubs then input it back into my tank. The system I am thinkg about desining will be low pressure to preven leakin and cracking. Also to help reduce breaking up the elements. The picture is run down on it. I also am thinking about just running the carbon and phospate on the same line...

how big is this tank? you do not need any reactor near that size on any tanks but the largest. have you read about iron poisoning due to the phosphate sponges?

what are you thinking as high pressure? you will not be even close to pushing the limits of the pipe with any normal aquarium pump you use. at least non that are less the $200 for the pump.

Its a 30 gall tank. The tubes would be below and above the tank to make circulation eaiser. No i have not hured about iron poisin through the procces. Its hard to find a site that discribes the procces. High preasure would be about 1.5 psi conserding a power head at my store puts out about 4 psi at the nozzel (so it claims).

Since the 2 tubes would only be 3 fee or less above the tank. Max 6 feet total. And the siphining action would help reduce the water wieght. So a lowe preasure pump would runn it. After i get the tubes and wiegh them I could caculate the actual wieght the tubes with water--thus telling me how much my pump would work. Even by installing a large air free seald container I could make it a pump free system (like a water tower) the weight of the water pushing back into the tank would be less then the waight of the water pulling from the tank..Their for a contuois syphoning action would occur. But i would be at risk for "stallin" if the flow got interupted or surged.

I once had a hydroponix system based that way and it would allways stall from the air bubbles it got built up from the drip.
