Question

Re-modeling My Canapy And Stand..opinion Needed Please

everthing is looking good!!!!i wanna re build my canapy and stand in my 180g reef..but im not looking forward on tearing everthing appart...i wanna make my stand about 18 inches highr so i can move my sump back under my stand.. my sump is in the master walk in closet..the wall right behind my 180g reef is the master closet.. my girl is pissed caude i have this water tub(my sump) in the closet taking up the one side of the closet..im think of making an 18 inch stage that my canapy know can just sit on,so that would give my more hight inside my stand.. i was thinking of stacking like 2 0r 3 cinderblocks high and put it directly under my stand like in diagram....then face it in with wood and crown molding for the bottom of stand..ill also add 6 inch crown molding across the top of my canapy...you think the cinder blocks will work?..THIS WILL ALSO protect my stand from floods

Hmmm, interesting idea. Youd want those blockes flat and square.

If you have the tools build a new stand, it would be better to use that space instead of fill it with blocks. Extra space is always good!

im sure the weight from the blocks going on the carpet would kinda level itself..ill have a leveler ready..im just wondering if the blocks will hold the weight?..i can always fill the blocks in solid with more cement to for extra strenth.. i just dont want to re make another stand.. i already re faced the stand and canapy about a year ago..i added all new doors.. the old ones where slotted doors and the whole tank was dreery flat black.. i pained it white after i added the doors on the canapy and added new doors with circles on the stand.. the circles on the doors of stand has a 2 inch lip of stainless steel with a silver mesh material over the circles.hmmmmmmm.. anyone think thi can work?

heck yeah those blocks will hold the weight and without any additional cement. I dont see anything wrong with laying them on the carpet, hopefully all the blocks are the exact same size.
