Hmmm. I've never been a huge fan of quietone pumps... Although I've never ran one, I hear that they don't hold up well and that they are a little noisy when used externally. But as I said, I have not used one... With the way I do things, I would give them a whirl and see how they do.

May be a little underrated for a 125 on the return though, depending upon the head.

I too have heard they are prone to failure and leaking when used externally.

Personally I will be running a Dart (3600gph) on my 125g CLS and fear it may not be enough flow...

I would try it with the 2 pumps on the closed loop. Have one pump use two of the four holes. I have never been around one that was running out of the water so I don't know about the noise. If the noise from running external is too much, and your sump is large enough, you could always plumb them for the pumps to sit in the sump but run the closed loop. Then, if it isn't enough flow, you could always upgrade later or add another pump. That would leave the QO4400 for the return pump and to be able to run any other equipment in the sump you wanted to run.

I've used those...the 2200's are actually a sicce pump (great for a skimmer as they suck tons of air with the right venturi setup)...I think one would be fine as a return pump...they are a bit weak for CLS...the best way to use one for a CLS is to use a OM4 to alternate the flow...with that setup you'd be fine with softies and most LPS, but probably still a bit weak for an SPS system.

If you decide to try a different pump and interested in a possible trade, let me know.
