What size and kind of tank are you going to make your sump out of?

If it's glass you use silacone on both sides! If plexi then it's bonded instead.

Dry fit it first and make sure you have a fairly snug fit. Then apply silicone on one side, use a plastic spoon to smooth it out and to push it into the joint. Then do the same thing on the other side. Use tape or clamps to hold the baffle in place until the silicone cures. You can make your edges professional looking by applying masking tape along the edge before you apply the silicone to get a nice clean look.

plexi to glass is a decent solution for internal baffles, but there's no way to bond glass to plexiglass (or acrylic). The reason you but silicone on both sides in this case is because you're actually creating a gasket that holds the plexi in place. Be a little liberal with the silicone application and follow Hoang's advice and it should do well for a long time.

Typically, people use three baffles if you're using it as a bubble trap.
