Our new 330g is made just like TFT was saying. It is in the wall on a base of 2x8 12''o/c. 3/4 plywood bottom, ends and back.

Painted black, then lined w/ 1/8'' acrylic. The bulkheads actually hold the ac to the plywood. Take it from me. Silicone does NOT! hold ac!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I ended up doing was taking the 1/2'' ac and ripping it into 1/2x1/2 strips and glued them into all the bottom and back corners with weldon #16. The sand hides the strips.

I believe its 40 inches from front to back(inner). You can barely notice the bow in the acrylic. Are you going to reinforce the front portion of the tank for the acrylic?

Adam, thanx. You wouldnt believe how I got a hold of all my rock. About 6 years ago I passed by a house that had 2 huge downdraft skimmers, wet dry and at least 1500 pounds of dead coral rock out on the curb(like it was trash). The house was a forclosure. I called the realtor and he said I could have anything on the curb. So I made about 6 trips in my little toyota starlet. lol. I had all of this rock in the garage for about 5 or 6 years. Some of the pieces weigh 100 pounds or more. I was extremely lucky.

He had two 500g surrounded by at least 6 reef tanks 125 and up. The entire basement was built for display. They had to remove part of the walk out basement wall to remove all of the acrylic tanks. I tried to buy some of the remaining tanks and pumps but the realtor already had contacted the same company who built the set up to removed it, that was all the stuff I could get. I was happy with the rock and skimmers but wanted more. lol I cant imagine how much money was spent on that set up or how it look when it was up and running.
