Plumbing help

I'm drilling a 180 this weekend, and need to set up 2 returns & 2 drains. I'm going to hang the returns over the edge of my tank to reduce drilling, but how high should I drill my drains? Also, do I just use pvc or are there bulkhead kits that I need to buy for the drain?

Is this for a sump? And are you adding an overflow box, or just drilling?

If there's no box in place, then you want the just barely under the water level, though you're much better off installing the overflow box. A coast to coast would be a good choice if you're working at it. You want to make sure that the holes won't drain the whole tank if your pump loses power.
