Are you talking about painting the inside of the tank?

Nobody would paint the inside of the tank......would they? The only problem I ever have is scratching the paint when I am messing around with the back of the tank.....then its touch up time.

i have several painted pieces in my tank. most are painted plastic, and not glass, but i do not see any problem with putting painted glass in the tank if it has cured properly.

i have painted the back of tanks with just about anything. acrylic, latex, tempra.

If you're painting anything glass or plastic go with Krylon Fusion. Follow the label. Superior bonding and chip resistance after 1 week cure. I have heard of people using it under water with no short term problems (1yr)... But I wouldn't.

I painted the back of my tank with black Krylon Fusion - beautiful!

Worked flawlessly! So much better than taping!

Painting the inside of the tank is not a great idea.

If you plan on cleaning the inside of your tank AGGRESSIVELY, you will be TESTING the paint each time you clean, and eventually it WILL fail.

I know my tank will eventually be covered with coraline, but I will fight it as long as I can, and if I had any painted surfaces inside my tank, I would not be able to use the scraper.

I would consider laminating any areas or surfaces you want 'painted' with colored acrylic, laminated over those areas.

Good luck

Bill
