overflow?

So I started to construct my aquarium and I have a quick question about the overflow that will go in the corner...

I am making it out of .22" acrylic and I am wondering if i can use stray paint so it will not be clear and will be the same color as the back ground. If not what are other ways of doing this or is there an inexpensive site to get one from?

Personally I would stay away from paint, unless you are sure it is totally unreactive once dry. Check around locally for a plastics dealer, I'm sure you could find some black or colored acrylic.

I definately wouldnt put paint in my tank no matter what. black overflow boxes get covered in just as much algae as a clear one, so unless youre scraping it off every other day, the color will be irrelevant.

Go to a plastic dealer and get the acrylic.You can get the color You want and the size.
