Stand pipes would work but I found that mine limited the flow alot, try running 3/8 hose thru them go slow when you hit the sweet spot the will quiet down.

to make a stockmam standpip. all you need to do is remove the plumbing on the back of the tank. put a Tee immediately after the bulkhead oriented vertically. so that you have an outlet facing upwards and downwards. plumb the downward facing Tee outlet to your sump like you would normally. the upward facing outlet needs to be extended so that it is slightly above the water level in the tank. now cap off this extended tube with a cap with a 1/16" hole in the top of it.

this should quiet things down significantly.

that is what i was thinking... my only concern is i dont much room behind my tank.. i am trying to think of a design that i can do inside the tank?
there is a stockman mod i am thinking i can build on top of the elbow going into the bulkhead inside the tank.

That is a good idea but the air hole would have to be above the water level, and I did find that my stockmans limited my flow ALOT so watch that, I am going to try to work them a little to see if I can get it better

I cut a slice on each side and only left about 1/8 in between the slices so that there was mostly hole. I do not have a pic with me but I could try to take one twomorrow, I am not at home right now. What would you like to see? I will try to help as much as possible, I hate the overflow noise that I was getting also
