hopefully this will work !

one other thing , how were you going too take your pump off-line to clean it ? the way you have it , it doesn't look like an easy task ! i would add a couple of couplers as shown i the pic , put a couple of 1" ball valves on each union so you can shut off your water supply . i have one on the sump and the return line , but they are inside the house while the pump is in the garage . the little water that spills out when the unions are opened just spills on the garage floor so no big deal !

putting a tee on the outside of the tank and adding a cap with a carb hole is basically a durso. It will definately quite the plumbing. I just wish I could quite my pump like GWACO has...I HAVE NO GARAGE... I baught an iwaki 40rxt off a local reefer for steal, but its loud. Must be the american model..
