New stand idea

So i'm planning to build a stand for my tank to replace the ugly metal rack that i have right now. my plan is a little different though. I plan on making a good solid frame with a solid back. then i will make the 2 side decorative panels and the full front panel removable to allow easy acces when i need it. i will still hang doors on the front with latches. and if i can afford it i will set up my power on one of the side panels. when i pull the tank out i will be plugging the existing drain (1" out the back) and replacing it with a drain in the bottom (2" with a durso). i will also be drilling for a cls using 1" bulkheads (not sure if i will go through the back or the bottom). just starting this as a build progress thread. now i just need to get a compound miter saw...

Sounds good!

Compound miter saws have to be one of the greatest tools. You can easily find a decent name brand saw for under $100; unless you want a 12" blade and a nifty laser.

I am trying to find a specific type of fastener to secure the panels to the frame. I am looking for they type that are being used in most pre-built furniture where you have a ribbed post screw into the removeable panel and a flat screw/nut that is set into the frame and then you insert the ribbed post screw into a hole in the frame and secure it with the flat nut thingy... i have been looking and can't find them anywhere...

What you're looking for is called knock down hardware. Any good woodworking store (rockler.com) will have all kinds of solutions for your application.
