It looks good! Makes me want to get busy and rework my wetroom

One of the more organized systems I've seen with that much stuff and room.

Everything was swimming along wonderfully when this happened.

There was a 18uf capacitor in there but, it was burnt beyond recognition. It also burnt the 120v wires and some of the cap wires. This all happened last weekend and we have a great group of guys that I ended up calling a friend and he gave me a Hammerhead pump. I plugged it in and guess what, it too needed a capacitor. I remembered that a pump went down at a LFS that I do some work for and they had replaced it. I went down there and the pump was also mine for nothing. I only needed the cap, trying to find one of those during the weekend is impossible; I live in the tech black hole. So off to home I went and a couple of minutes I had a working pump.

I could not stand to keep looking at the broken motor on my work table so I went to work. I took the pump motor apart and inspected the rotor and field all looked great. The only damage was to the 120v wires and the capacitor wires. The original capacitor box was burnt to no return and I had a J-Box lying around from my swirler stein builds, it fit the top of the motor nicely. All I had to do was drill mounting and cord holes, how easy is that? I had to call Baldor to get the spec for the capacitor and was able to pick one up locally. This new cap is better built than the cheep plastic unit that burnt up, its outer housing is metal. I soldered it together and plugged it in and she hums along like a champ.
Here she is now in service. The bright spots under the cap box is dust from the box, it came with mounting tabs that were not needed, so I ground them off.

You really should of changed the wires also! They are brittle and as they heat up,the insulation can just come off!

Looks like everyone is happy in your tank.

I had a green gigantea and a purple based magnifica about a year ago. I lost them both in a power outage. I just tried a red based magnific, but I believe it was a recent split. It hung in there for a few weeks, but never really perked up like it should have. Yours are simply beautiful! You must be taking very good care of them.

Loverotties, I did not mention that I did replace all damaged wires. What was burnt or damaged in any way was replaced. This was the main reason I took the pump apart. Thanks for the suggestion though.

EC, they take very little care. They are feed from the same food the rest of the fish eat. About the only thing I do that most, in my town anyway, is keep them under 1840 watts of light and 7000 gph flow in the display.

Sorry for the late post. The fish room cost about $300.00. That includes the wood work, sump and pvc. The pump I bought before the build. All of the goodies, calcium reactor, fuge, skimmer..., were bought or built before the move also.
