I'm actually working on a project to do just that right now. I've just glued up the hood that it is going into, and payday is Friday, when I hope to order the relay board.
Here is the link for the relay controller that I'm planning to use. it even comes with hyperterminal software to run the thing
http://www.electronickits.com/kit/co...lec/ck1610.htm
I'm hoping to run MH's, actinic flourescents, and night lites on both my display and my 'fuge, as well as control my surge bucket. That leaves me a few channels for further upgrades, and hopefully room for i/o to run a kalk-reactor or even run heaters thru this system.
After looking at the controllers on the market, it seems that only those with HUGE $$$ can afford those systems. Almost anybody can get their hands on a crappy ol' PC, and this software only needs Win 95 or better.
I'll try to keep this site updated on my progress on this project, but it's a huge project that involves building a hood, and moving my 'fuge upstairs, drilling holes in floors, and etc. My goal is to get it going by Christmas.
Peace,
koko
