Lets See Your DIY Hoods

I am setting up a 120 as we speak. Lights just arrived (2 250Watt MH and 2 VHO) from Cooltouchlighting.com

I have drawn up several designs but none so far that I am convinced will work long term or that I wont regret down the road.

Ideally I would like to have the hood slide back a few inches so I can access the water or look down at the Clams etc whithout loosing a lot of light.

Burnage;( I have no desire to stick my arm into a firey hot Metal halide bulb any time soon either. Most DIY hoods I see are totally cramped and there is very little space for an arm with an alge scraper etc.

Anyone with a pic want to share their design or suggestion on what to/not to do?

Any pics much appreciated.

Hank

I saw a tank that had its hood suspended from cables. The cable were attached to a winch type device and with a push of a button the hood raised 2 or so feet. It was cool and I wish I had pictures. The part that raised was smaller than the top off the tank. The guy made a 3 sided open top covering that slide on to the sides of the glass and mated up with the hood that raised. i hope I painted a good picture for everyone
