Is this stand strong enough?

This is for a 75gal (48x18x20). I believe it is strong and sturdy, but I am at that prefill paranoia stage that I am sure we all go through the first time you fill that new tank. I have filled the tank once before and it was very sturdy, but that was before I cut the holes for the doors on the front. I simply used 3/4 inch ply all the way around and a piece down the middle as you can see in the pic. I used to build my stands with the typical 2x4 frame and then cover up with ply or finishing wood but found this to be more work for the same result. In my opinion, the typical manufactured stands construction is weaker than this and they hold up fine.

I really just need a few people to agree so I can fill this thing up.

Thanx, Michael

the plywood itself is plenty strong for that purpose. how are your joints done. are they glued and screwed?

All comes down to joint construction.

Glued and screwed. I would not do it any other way.

Thanks!
