i wont to build a over flow tower

iam thinking about geting some colored plexy glass from home depot and makeing a over flow tower .... any one every build one ? my tank had one but the people took it out for some reason that i got it from ... any other ideas then useing glass or plexy glass ?

you can paint the acrylic any colour you want. the Krylon Fusion spray works well on acrylic.

when putting these acrylic overflows in a glass tank, make sure to use very large beads of silly cone on all sides of the overflow. sillycone does not adhere to acrylic long term. without these large beads the overflow WILL fall away after about 4 months.

i have a sump that's been in use for 2.5 years and i noticed last weekend that the silicone has hardened in one area and needs to be replaced.

What adhesive material should be used to glue acrylic to glass?

Also, that paint won't break apart in the saltwater?

there is not an adhesive that works between glass and acrylic. if there was then all of us would have tanks that were acrylic with glass front panels.

silly cone is the best material to use, it is just not pressure capable. it will hold an overflow fine since it is inward pressure instead of outward pressure.
