Hydro water deflector

Anyone ever tried some hydro deflectors on a PVC return or a closed loop?

The hydro is about a 1/2" diameter, I wonder if it will work with 1/2" PVC?

have not tried one of those, but have toyed around with rotating sprinkler heads. i gave up when i took one completely apart and found magnetic steel axels in it.

they both work on the same principal. there will be a reduction of flow due to the rotating gear mechanism.

Most people that have had them over a length of time report seizing issues. They do reduce flow significantly. They do only have a tolerance of up to 400 gph if I remember correctly. If you can't tell, I am not a big fan of them unless you are using them in a nano tank and can afford greatly reducing the gph coming from a power head.

Well, I glued one of this on a PVC "T" for my CL return, it is drying. We shall see how it perfoms.

I love them, but the do need to be cleaned every month or so
the gears also wear out after about 7-8 months

tear it off the glue before it dries and find a less permanent solution
the come with rubber adapters that fit almost any size
