help with skimmer idea


I have a gx 4100 hooked yup to a venturi I also have a colection cup and a piece of 7 inch tube but I suck at skimmers can some one give me some help here I need a desighn to work for a in sump skimmer

ditto. are you listing the materials? what is the 7" tube made out of. finding adhesives for some plastics can be pretty troublesome.

The tube is pvc I would get acrylic but Dont have the $$ right now. I thought it was pretty much just throw a bottom on the pvc throw the collection cup ontop and drill a hole in the side for the pump input

in its simplest form, that is all you need to do. it is the connecting of all of the parts that can be kinda problematic. not many adhesives glue different plastics together reliably.

you will also need a valve on the outlet side to control the water height in the skimmer. gate valves are better than ball valves. using a slide output is also another good option. slide outputs are used on Euroreef and ASM skimmers.
