help me build a huge Recirc skimmer

i Have a sheet of 4x8 acyrlic 1/4 think. i was thinking of making an octogon out of it.. i would have about 15.3 inch diameter skimmer i would use a 6" neck and larger collection cup, and try and build a wet neck. are there any plans for wet neck, or recerc skimmer? like best place for the inlet and outlet of the pump would go, and inlet and outlet of the skimmer water flow..i plan on using my drain from my tank as a drain to the skimmer... and feed it flow... i plan on making the main chamber about 5 feet tall and the rest about 15 inches to top of cup or so... is a heat gun the best way to bend acyrlic?? thanks

heat guns will work, but not for long lengths of acrylic. it is difficult to get it to heat evenly over large areas.

i do not know of any plans for a skimmer that meets your criteria.

what size are you drains from the tank? what pump are you thinking of using for the recirc?

drains use gravity feed, not active feed. expect to only get about 2200gph out of a 2" drain. not sure what the dart would do with a needlewheel mod, but you might be safe. not sure why you would want to needle wheel a Dart. i would think the higher the RPM's of a pump the better a needlewheel it would make. the Dart are rather slow RPM pumps.
