I am running a Stockman downpipe and it is sustantialy quieter than before. There is still the sound of the water in the pipe but it a minimal. There was alot of noise coming from the sump also. I totaly got rid of this by using a little trick I found in one of Geoffs old posts. Add a 45 to the down pipe and run PVC down to the sump at this angle. Just above the wate rline, add a "T". Off of the "T" add a short piece of PVC going just below the water line and a longer piece that goes up ( I had to experiment to find a length that didnt make a mess) The piece going above the "T" will alow the air to escape without sloshing into the sump and causing noise. Some small bubbles will go into the sump but the noise will be all but gone. HTH
