Fool proof Auto Top Up System

What do you reckon guys (In aussie that means guys and girls )

this is my plan for an auto top off system which i think will be incapable of flooding over.

The fresh water is in the tank on the right and the sump is the one on the left. There are two identical pump and switch set ups incase one dies.

On each there are two electrical float switches (Both which need to be down to complete the circuit) and one mechanical float switch which will close the supply off if that water level is reached.

If all of those fail and it keeps flowing in there is a spillway with a venturi back to the auto top up tank. Yes this will end up in a specific gravity reducing situation but a lot of things have to fail for that to happen and at least i wont have water all over the floor.

Anybody see any reason why this wouldn't work like i anticipate it too?

Looks to me like a great idea and that it would work.

Looks good and in theory it will work.

I just have two float switches that interrupt a pH controlled peristaltic pump (kalk dosing) when level is reached.

the only thing i can think of is, where is the vent for the pump outlet tube? depending on where this vent is the float valve will be irrelevent. the water will just keep coming out of the vent hole.

Ahh yes I hadn't thought of that but now that you mention it i guess the vent will be downstream of the float valve in which case when the level gets to the float valve a venturi will be formed anyway. Hmm puzzling - maybe i need an s bend. That'll do it. Good sighting Geoff.

preciate it
