Float Swich for top-off

I need to verfiy that this will work and not cause a short for my manual/auto-top off of our tank. I have aDIY kalk reactor that is a recirculating by PH (I have picture if someone wants to see) and I had it hooked up to a float switch.

I disconnected it cause it stuck several times and "almost" flooded the Living Room - and guy's we know how the wife's feels about that

And I have been doing it manually, plugging in the PH in the fresh water tank - but I forget to watch it and do other things, DUHhhh!

Here is a picture of the float switch

And here is the crude schematic that I drew in "crayon".

What I want to do is put 2 switches in "parallel" (if that is the correct term) with one inverted and spaced a couple of inches higher than the other, to "reduce" the chance of one switch sticking. Yes, there is no way for this to stick except for some algae or a snail to go for a ride. This has happened to me twice and just don't wan't to soak the carpet.

The green is spliced into a power cord- one side of course and is connected to PH in the freshwater holding tank (the manual part of it- me , filling it up with ro/di from the LFS ) So when the water level goes down the PH is activated and fills the sump with kalk and turns off when the switch is sent up the shaft.

See any problems, or is there a better way to wire this up - short of using relays.

Thanks for any help

sorry, but i am a mechanical kind of guy so i have a normal swing arm float valve.

what you have drawn is what is known as series, not parallel. i am thinking that will work. i can not think of a situation where one failing would lead to a flood.
