Hey guys, heres an update for you. SO far the stocking list is as follows:
2 hermits from my 20L
3 stripped damsels
1 blue fin damsel
...not much of a list.
One day before I could get the fans installed, the water level got slightly low causing the pump to suck a bit of air. The resulting effect cleared the glass. How? Well after this cloud of bubbles reached the surface and popped it sprayed a thin even coat of saltwater on the glass. This even wetness cut down on drips and eliminated fogging. Sweet! So I eliminated the fans and moved them to my brand new 120! YES! THAT build thread is coming very shortly

.
The rock in the tank is my very own home-made aragocrete made with 5 parts crushed oyster shell and 1 part portland cement. You can see some of the stuff in my thread titled "DIY Rockwork and Some Things to Think About". The sand is Daytona's finest, taken directly from the surf zone. Lighting is minimal....ambient light from the ceiling fan with supplemental T5 from a dual-bulb fixture. I almost like it better without the T5's on. A Rubbermaid container acts as a sump (cut down and drilled of course

), and the Rio 1100 returns water.
So far, all of my time was spent building skimmers and hammering out kinks in those designs until I got my $20 120 gal. Now that that build is almost complete, I'm thinking of adding a grouper to the
coffee table along with a coral-banded shrimp, a few starfish, maybe a few snails for the glass...I have a feeling that eventually the snails would scale the walls, then the ceiling, then escape out the holes. And Die. We shall see....
Pictures to come!
