Looks cool, I was wondering if the surface is always so still, It looks like you may not get a good Gas exchange and even build up some surface scum. It may just look like that in the pictures
The top comes right off...it just sits there. Once every few days I remove the top and wipe it down with a little windex. I just ordered a set of fans for those two holes to reduce condensation on the interior glass...that's why that last picture is a little fuzzy.
Wow Very Cool! windex sounds unsafe but it's working for ya. Man If this tank was on the market. I would so Line up to buy one! You should try to sell your design after you work all the kinks out. I just love how you have the two holes for the plants to grow out of. Such a tropical touch to it! :-)
Ha that was only an accident...they were supposed to line up with the two holes in the wood to allow for two overflow pipes to handle water with the glass bottom effect. Thanks for all the compliments!
Well thank you! For the pictures taken, the water looks still because I had to shut off the pumps. Since it's fish only, the flow is supplied by the return pump, roughly 400gph. Im having problems with the glass fogging so Im currently experimenting with (2) 2" computer fans over the holes. Does anyone have ideas on where I might find a power source for these? Theyre DC12V 0.18A fans...

You should be able to match your fans with a power supply at Radio Shack. Make sure to match the amps as well as the volts.
