Yeah, I'm looking foward to finishing it. Everytime I go to homedepot they don't have the check valve I need so it is still delayed. I just have to finish the plumbing and that is it.
I've also started a build for my school. They approved a $600 budget and we've already ordered all the equip. I'm going to start a thread for that one as well, it's pretty much the same as this one. I'll post pics either tonight or tomorrow of everything depending on my girlfriend's plans. Peace and thanks for the comments

Thanks. Don't give me all the credit, I learned a lot from this forum, the people here are great.
If I can find a stinkin' check valve I'll have a water test going this weekend. Peace

Don't use a check valve, the salt can cause it to stick open and defeat the purpose of it. Use an anti-siphon hole and keep it cleaned out.

I already have 70W Metal Halide, but I can get a 96W T-5 fixture for free so I'll probably do that. It's a Nova Exteme Setup.
How do I do the anti-siphon hole? Will the check valve clog eventhough there is constant water movement?
Thanks for the comments I have the day off tomorrow and it's supposed to be warmer so I'll try to finish everything tomorrow. Peace

In your return plumbing line, just below the water line, you drill an 1/8" hole in the return pipe. Then if the pump fails or electricity goes off, the water starts to siphon back into the sump. When the water level in the display tank reaches that hole, the air breaks the siphon and the water stops flowing back to the sump. And yes, a check valve will clog even though it has water flowing through it.

Just know that you still need to clean it once a month or so to keep the siphon hole from getting stopped up. Just use a toothpick and clean it out. It will still get clogged but a lot easier to maintain than a check valve.

That's one way. The idea is to make sure they are far enough apart that one critter can't cover both holes at once.
