I needed a place to store RODI
water for my fish tank and this is what i came up with.
I have a very small house and really don't have room for another water storage tank but i really need one.
I've been making RODI by filling 5 gallon jugs in the bathtub, then pouring into small pitcher, then into the tank.
I was cleaning out the garage a couple weeks ago and found an old water stand. I cleaned it up, used a lot of silicone between the inner tub, plastic ring, and the bottle.
Then i drilled 3 holes in the bottle, 2 on top(1 for filling and 1 for air flow) and 1 on the side for overflow.
It's hard to tell but the unit is about 18" off the floor on a vinyl covered wood platform(5 gallon jug storage underneath) with a slight lean towards the tub it's sitting above.
The tub is still usable but it's all designed to go in the tub if there's any kind of leak.
The 6 stage RODI
filter is just hanging by a 1x2 attached to the back of the stand, and the stand is bolted to the wood stand, so no falling over.
it also doesn't have an autostop but the water valve is right next to the throne, so it gets turned on every time I sit.
I find that it makes it much easier to fill my pitcher and 5 gal jugs
