Electrical wattage knowing person needed....


I am using this (the ballast pictured below) to OD a 24", 17 watt bulb.

Any estimate on the actual OD level i am getting?

You really cant tell from the information given. Or at least I can't

If you are comfortable using a multimeter you could measure the current that is being drawn from the wall and we could figure it out that way.

Dont know of any other way off hand.

Seriously, though, how I would go about doing it is getting a meter to measure the wattage of the ballasts pulling from the wall (or amperage). I use a kill-a-watt, which has proven pretty useful. Then, assume about 90% effeciency, maybe a little less, and you can estimate a wattage per bulb. That would get you close, if nothing else.
