Drilled tank plumbing size?

I am getting ready to drill a 28 gallon bowfront and I'm curious. I am planning on having 2 -3/4 or 1 inch returns, one in each corner, and a small plexi/acrylic overflow box in the middle with a bulkhead connected to a 1.25 inch or 1.5 inch drain to the sump. Any recommendations on specific sizes I should use? Probably going to use a Quiet One 1200 for a return.

Looks like you are trying to get flow in the tank - this is not the best way to do it. You will not be ble to get the flow back up and through the sump. Instead a return pump of about 2-4x the tank volume and install a CL to get the flow in the tank.

I agree with Wannareef on this one, with the overflow box and a 1" drain I would use a Mag5
or a Hagen 802 with the reversing plate removed.
Use the 2 1" bulkheads to feed a Closed Loop pump, I would go with a MAg 18 or 24 with at least 4 outlets on the return side
Running that kind of thru put( original plan) in a small sump will create a lot of noise and salt creep
