DIY Live Rock Stand
Hey all, I built this a while ago but just got a camera to take some pics. When I decided to go barebottom I realized that I ought to have some sort of stand to put the live rock on. PVC risers didn't seem stable enough for the aquascape I had in mind so I designed a rack upon which I can mount the rock. As I was making it, i realized that it could also function as a spraybar to push detritus forward from under the rock. So, without further ado, I present the "Turbo Rock Stand 3000"

definately a great idea in theory, can you tell us how it is working out for you?
It looks like a couple steps added to the closed loop, i had planned in my tank. unfortunately it got postponed. Need to get an external pump for it. That darn internal pump was adding 4-5 degrees.

So whats going to push it? It looks cool! Put a big ol monster pump on that bad boy, you have alot of 90s and such it looks like it would take some flow. Thats a great build!

Thanks everyone. I'm going to be putting it in the tank in a couple of weeks so I'll let you know how it works out.
Robert: Currently I plan to have it running on two maxijet 1200s. I made the rack into two separate sections by plugging off certain passages and each section is independantly driven by a powerhead. Ihave tested it with 2 mj's and it provides pretty good flow. If it proves to be too weak, I can always add an external mag drive...we'll see.

you will need about 5X the power of two maxijets...
Good construction, I'n interestedto see how it look in the tank.
It looks like you have a 46g bow front?
