DIY Kalk Drip.....

Ok i wanted something that was going to be able to sit on top of my sump and not have to go outside of my stand.

Total Cost was $7
Total time to make was 5 minutes.

It holds 2 gallons of water at a time. I figure if it drips at the same rate my water evaps it would kinda double as an auto top off. This may take some time to get it set just right to do this.

Very cool, the only thing I wonder about is the location of the drip feed. Being low the mix of kalk might contain unmixed kalk as compared to higher up on the carton would allow the kalk to settle out to the bottom of the container and give a better satuated solution from above. Very nice idea

I dont plan on mixing it in this container. I will mix in another container than pour into this one.

Maybe put something under the front so it doesn't suck the muck!

looking good!!!

you could use a kent float valve as a safety net if you want. if the tank/sump gets to full it will not allow any more water through.

Hmmm I never thought of that.....It only holds 2 gallons at the most so if there is something wrong with the float valve then i wouldnt have to worry to much about it crashing my whole tank!! I think when ever i get around to building my new sump i will do something like that!
