DIY help needed.. an easy one

Ok I am designing my hang over CLS. Stand space is limited. I thought it would be good to have the CLS pump higher up for head reasons and space reasons. Any ideas how I could have a "shelf" where the bottom of the tank and stand meet? Its just a regular AGA stand and tank. Could slide a VERY thin piece of plastic or something in between the tank and stand? Any ideas to hold a pump behind the tank? I guess I could put it on the floor outside the stand but....

I would avoid the thin piece in between. You would have to make it go all the way to the front to keep things level and that much force with any sort of edge on the tank bottom will break it.

I had the same problem, and used a couple of el cheapo angle braces and an 8" piece of 1x6 to make a little shelf. The angle braces are screwed into the back wood of the stand, and the shelf to the angle braces. It looks ugly, but who else but me or a visiting TRT reefer would ever sniff around behind the tank.
