Ok last update for a little while, the new 40 gallon frag tank has been in for awhile and is doing great, need to do a water change but will do that sometime this week. The DSB is in and running smoothly, the Macro Tanks is in and running good, I am not getting the tumbling like I had hoped but the flow is really good; added a second overflow. I decided to only use 2 of the small frag tanks and those are in now, and running, light over the one and I put a shallow sand bed in there. Those lights are going to run only as long as the Halides do to start out with, still need to pickup a second light, going to add eggcrate/acyrlic rack for frag in that one.... Here are a couple of pictures, the first of the 2 tanks and the second of the plate coral frags in the tank...they should do better in this tank as there is sand.... Crossing fingers "hopefully"
I will keep monitoring water conditions to make sure they stay stable as far as phosphates and nitrates, if they do I think I am going to wait until this fall to move forward with the plans to remove the crushed coral, I am definitely going to do it but that would be a good fall project....will keep you posted as what I decide to do and how the small frag tanks are working...
Ok there was more information there than just the frag tanks but I have a thread in the LARK forumn that explains what I am doing this year as far as the tank....here is the link if you want to check it out....
