DIY CA Reactor

(1) What do you all think?

(2) Anything you would improve with my current design? I don't want to completely rebuild but your entertain ideas to improve my current design.

(3) In the third picture the tape is just to hold the tube in place while the solvent dried.

The unit is powered with a Maxi-Jet 1200 and few with a second Maxi-Jet 1200.
With a build in dual chamber that feeds from the top of the main chamber.
In the pictures the unit has 25 Lbs. of media.

Please ask if you have questions....

The last picture is just a little shot of me running a waterfall in the Columbia Gorge (Oregon). Hope you all get a kick out of it.

Thanks,

Tyler Hovelsrud

Looks good. How is the water getting form one isde to the other? Kind of hard to tell by the pix. Is the 1200 strong enough to move the water from one side to the other and then to the sump? What are you using to recapture the CO2 that collects at the top?

Where did you get your idea?

I just looked at a few reactors and went from there. The is one improvement that I am going to do tonight. is reroute the output of the bubble counter so that the input of the mj1200 sucks it in and raise the input enough that it will suck from closer to the top of the main chamber. The wall between the main and second chamber stops about a quarter inch from the top, and the output is near the bottem so the water has to flow down thru the second chamber. Seems to be working good. I just got up and will have to go test the ph of the output. It is setup with 60 drips /min and 30 bubbles / min. as a baseline to work from.

Your skimmer you made at the Christmas party looks sweet. How do you keep from getting the solvent all over the place.
