Darthteddys Acrylic 6g Nano

While browsing up on the nano buildoff earlier this afternoon i decided that her..Why dont i build a nano. So I spent the day making my plans and doing reserch. So far i have devised this. Im gonna make an 11"x11"x11" Cube out of 1/4" Acrylic. The cuts are gonna be as follows.

Bottom = 11 " x 11"
Front = 11 " x 10 3/4"
Back = 11 " x 10 3/4"
2 Sides = 10 3/4 " x 10 1/2"

That is right around 6 gallons. There will also be Braces at the top to hold lighting and support the tank. As far as plumbing i am very new to all of the drilling out of tanks and the returns and all that. Nothing is set in stone yet but i am thinking two bulkheads. As far as what goes after those bulkheads i am not sure. This tank is going beside my 28 BowFront because there is a perfect spot on the left side of the tank. The only problem is that that was temperd so i never got the chance to drill it out. I would also like to build a sump out of acrylic.

For lighting i plan on using 2 Compact Flourecent 9wx2 Light fixtures by coralife. Found here-> http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...&N=2004+113345

That would put me right around 6 watts per gallon. Colorful softies are mainly what im looking for.
Earlier this evening i went to my LFS, HomeDepot, And lowes on a little feild trip. My results werent very enlightening. My LFS doesnt sell bulkheads, Home depot sells Acrylic but they dont cut it, and Lowes Sells and Cuts acrylic but they dont have the right kind of glue. On monday ill do some more looking around my area to see if i can find what im looking for. Later ill post sketches of what i intend to do. Any comments would be greatly appreiciated.

could you post a bigger pic?

i have to order my Weld-on from Tapp plastics. i like to use both Weld-on 3 and Weld-on 16 for my projects.

My local Hardware store actually has most varietys of weld on in stock at any given point. The thing im not sire about it the glue that your supposed to put in a needle bottle to "melt" the acrylic together. Thats the part i cant find around town at least. Today i went to the glass place and they can do it but the smallest they can do is 5/8" and it will be a little more expensive. There is one more place i have yet to go to but i should go around wednesday. Untill then heres that proposed pic but alot bigger. Not the best artist but i think you can get the idea.

the Weld-On number is just the viscosity of the solvent. i put #3 in the needle bottles. i do not know what the maximum # to put in a needle bottle is but it is thicker than #3.
