cooling fans ????

i plan to have 4 power compact lights in my top iam building 4 strips 2 blue 2white thir 96 w each .... any way i need to get cooling fans and i looked on e bay and foundem cheap but does it matter what i put in thir ? i saw some cool ones that were plastic with led lights that made them glow !!!!! i thought that would be very cool to have one on each side of the top glowing at night it would look awwsome any info on this ?

PC fans (which are quite cheap) will work, though likely you'll need a power supply. Keep in mind that cheaper fans are likely not going to hold up terribly well in a high humidity environment, and some of them can be relatively loud, but often make very good solutions for getting air flow in the tank.

hmmm ? so i can use a pc fan if i find one that has a power supply ? with the lighting i menchiond would 2 be enought ?

the only issue with pc lights is the stop working after a while from the harsh environment...check out the sunlight supply fans

Depending on placement and size/flow rate of the fan, two will probably be enough. And most likely a pc fan will not come with a power supply, but it's pretty easy to wire one up. You just need to find an AC/DC converter (check out an old wireless phone, cell phone charger, etc., or you can buy generic ones for ~$15) and match the voltage/amperage. It sounds intimidating, but Amy wrote up a nice little post on how-to a while back.

cool iam still not shure what iam going 2 use on e they r 3 pc fans for 10 bucks pretty cheap$$

DOn't get the fans with the lights - hopefully, you won't be running the fans at night with the PC lights off.

I use the Radio Shack ones. They run $20- 30ea but they last. Buy the AC ones and you done have to worry about a power supply/ converter. You can just cut an extension cord and wire them up and ready to go.
