cold cathode lighting?

Has anyone tried cold cathode lighting for moon lights? If so how did it work out? and what are the pro's and cons? or what would you want to do differnt?

I have looked at them in computer cases and think it might look good in my tank. maybe add some led's to add some differnt color?
thanks for any help
Sean

could you post a link of what exactly you are talking about. i have not seen anybody trying it. it sounds interesting, the only problems i can see are if the colour temps are not above 6.5K.

i SWEAR i almost asked about these things...hubby just bought a new barebones setup to build himself a computer and he grabbed a cold cathode super blue lighting set for the inside of his tower and i looked at them and said "hey, cool moonlighting!" he said he could prolly hook up some for me, but i'm not sold on moonlighting anyway (just another little hassle really) so i didn't pursue it....
should be some here:

really hard to tell without any real specs on them. they do produce light so they could easily be used for FO tanks. as for reefs i would really like to see some specs on them first. my guess since they have not been used yet i bet they are just not powerfull enough.

I was just considering it for moonlighting and late night veiwing. not sure where I would find specs. on light temp and output but they are bright and I am going to try one to see how much it lights up my tank. they make some that are dimmable if it is too bright....I will let you know when I try it...
thanks
