Closed Loop, wavemaking ?

Thinking about drilling a 125 I have sitting around and going closed loop, has anybody come up with a way to alternate currents in the tank with a closed loop? or is it really needed, all I can come up with is solenoids and a wavemaker.

You could look at a SCWD:

better yet look at the OceansMotions Squirt. thier website seems down now.

the SCWD is more of a pain when used on tanks that need more than 700gph.

This isn't probably what you're looking for, but its another option. If you do the closed loop with at least two returns, one on each side of the tank, you could manually switch the current with ball valves on a cycle, am & pm or whatever, more of a tide effect....

Just a thought...

I like the scwd, but it is only rated for 1400GPH, and really probably limits that to 1000.
