you seem like you know about these actuator things, do you know if there is a 120 volt one somewhere? or what did you search for to find this one? all of my searches dont come up right.

thanks!
B&K
I just remembered seeing it on their Featured Items List! click on link under “Featured Items” As for a 120 volt one? That one does come ”With” it’s own 120 volt transformer!

Now as how to hook it up? That’s where the fun comes in! IMO it would have to be mounted outside of the canopy as the retracted length is 18”

Let me work on this a little

That’s Great!
I was going to try to figure out how to mount it outside for you? But I had to go out of town for several days.

Any way good luck & keep us posted!

so would you use 4 of them one in each corner or two one on each front corner or just one in the middle on the front since it can lift 1300 lbs.

i havent looked at the specs on that model yet but i was planning on one in the middle.

i just went to McMaster Carr and looked there but all i could find to do what i wanted was either way more money or not campatible. the do however have a gas spring that is lockable and adjustable. ill be checking in to that since they are relatively close to me.

i know this is going to be the toughest research job i have yet in aquaria, but man is it going to be cooooooool!

I've suggested this in the past but I don't think anyone has taken my suggestion yet.

Talking

Now that will definitely lift the hood

..... but I do not think I have enough clearance behind the tank ....

I hope to get a chance this weekend and wonder through HD and see if there is anything that I can rig up.....

Cool

That looks great .....

I purchased one from pep boys and was going to install it this coming week.

Did you need two, or did one do the trick? What did you use to attach to hood?

Thx
