C.L. Diversion Help Needed
I am currently plumbing my 120 and need help.
I have decided to run my Chiller off of my CL and have dry plumbed it as seen in the "Before Pump" sketch below. I am worried that I have created a vacuum and water is just going to sit in my chiller.... All C.L. lines are 1" pipe EXCEPT for the diversion T's which are reduced to 3/4" for my chiller lines.
I have also sketched up an alternative. Will you check them out and give me some opinions? I am plumbing by myself and am concerned that what I have done is feasable.

I don't think that is a good way to do it, You will be pushing water in the inlet and outlet of the chiller at the same pressure. Not going to work

Ya, unless you put a restriction between the input

Alright, trying again.
Ya, unless you put a restriction between the input and output of the chiller you will not get any flow through it. Anyway, chillers have a big restriction on them, and the point of a Closed loop is to get max flow, plus it will be really hard to maintain that way.
I would much rather run my chiller on my return, or if the return pump is too big for that run the chiller in the sump on it's own dedicated Mag 5 or something.

explain what your lifters are please?
Vince is right, the chiller will not work the way you have drawn. if you were to remove the length of pipe between the chiller inlet and outlet than it would work. there would be a significant amount of flow loss, but it would work.
the only way that it would work the way you have drawn is if there was a small pump on the chiller loop to push water through the chiller.

Ok, I'll take the chiller off the C.L.
I'll sketch something up and post this afternoon.
Thanks all!

My initial thought was that the pump in the chiller itself would be sufficient to cirrculate the right amount of water into the chiller.
Guess not~I knew something was wrong~ I appreciate the help!

Blast!
Your chiller has a pump built in?? Really? If so than what you have done might work, but I would really double check that it has a pump built in, because I've never heard of that before. It will have a compressor and such for pumping freon, but not to pump water through it.
I could be wrong though, just never heard of it,
