building a tank???

ok, i want to build a tank.. i know im in the wrong forum but you guys have been so great to me and have lots of great ideas...

it will have to be glass...
i like the shape of a pentagon..but i want to change the measurements a bit..

how easy is it to build a tank yourself..
oh yeah its for frogs... so there will be barely any water .. the deepest would be..maybe 2 inches..if that.. it wont be the whole bottom either...

so any ideas would be great

could i go to a glass shop and say i need this many pieces with the measures of this??
or any other ideas??
i could silicone it myself..
or could they do it
will it be way expensive to have them cut glass for me??

ok so i called the glass company... they said that they can do it for me.. all they need at how many pieces and measurements...
they also wanted to know the thickness.....
they said they can give me a price when they get the measures..

am i looking to spend more going this route.. if so.. whats a cheaper way??

that is going to be the cheapest way i know of. some places like www.glasscages.com may come closer, but do not expect any customer service from them though. you had better know what you want when you call.

as for thickness. i would stick with 3/8" glass. this is mainly because of accidental knocking. 1/4" glass is pretty fragile. it would be strong enough on paper, but i would rather it be thicker for my piece of mind.

whoa
It depends on how big of a tank you are wanting if you are thinking a smaller tank as in 55 gallons or so it is generally cheaper to go buy one. a brand new 55 gallon is only 100 bucks brand new. and you can always get rgeat deals on used tanks as well. sio how big of a tank are you wanting
