Building 40 gallon tank

Hey guys'

I'm planing on building a 40 gallon tank out of acrylic. Has anyone ever done this or anything like, and if so are there any problems I should be worried about? And also a recomendation on how thick the glass should be would be very helpful.

i built a @40g sump for my tank out of 1/4" acrylic. i would not recommend doing that though. it works, but boy does it bow. all i can say is practice on some smaller pieces until you get the hang of it, i still have not gotten the hang of it, and all of your joints are nice and clear. here are my hints for working with acrylic.

I'm with Geoff If you are not use to working with acrylic - it's not worth the chance of a flood and lost animals.
