Brass Fittings

I'm installing a preassure cutoff switch in my RO/DI topoff system. This preassure switch has brass fittings. Ideally it would be best to install the preassure switch after the RO/DI filter in the topoff system so that my preassure pump would run continually until the preassure in my resevoir reached the appropriate preassure. If it is installed before the RO/DI filter then the pump will only run for a short period of time until it reaches the cutoff preassure and then turn off until preassure decreases and then continue the cycle. This will decrease the efficiency of the RO/DI filter because it will not consistently be run at as high of a preassure and decrease the life of the preassure motor because it is constantly turning on and off.

I know that installing brass parts in a saltwater aquarium would normally be stupid, but should I be able to get away with it in this case because only freshwater will be coming in contact with the brass?

Preassure cuttoff is manufactured by Square D. I've done a lot of looking and haven't found any other cutoff switches that are plastic. The preassure diaphragm itself is made of brass so I can't change parts out on it.

My only real choices that I see are use it before the filter and have decreased efficiency and increased motor wear or use it after the filter.

It was recommended that I try it and see, but I don't know of any real way to test if I'm going to have a problem without watching for stuff to keel over. Has anyone tried using brass after the RO/DI filter with freshwater feed?
