no replies . . . bummer.

I was watching you post because I want to add a single tank that would be a fuge and possibly a frag tank.

The only thing I can think of is to use an overflow into the first bin instead of a pump, because you'll never be able to match up two pumps equally (I'm guessing you were thinking to use a pump to get up to the level of your top bin, and a return pump in the sump). This would mean your top bin could not be higher than the DT.

I had a 20 setup that became an algae infested mess and I removed it. I just had a 300 gph pump in the sump that fed it and an overflow back to the sump. I may set it up again, but I need to invest in good lighting.

I drilled the side of the tank and installed a bulkhead with a PVC elbow inside the tank pointed up with a pipe up to the height of the water level desired. You can also get a hang on overflow like this:

well im even thinkin now i can get to 20Ls and put them one on top of the other beside the cube so the cube is between them but beside them then i can use the top tank as a frag and use the bottom as a sump 4 both! what u think?

You could do that, I would try to put the fuge and the frags in one tank with some baffles. That way you could use 1 light over both areas that need it.

You can buy them pre-made. I've seen people use a regular tank, it's just used to house equipment and add water volume. Most have some form of baffles to keep the micro bubbles down from the skimmer.
